“I’ve seen Fitness for Health work magic with many of our youngsters who have had a variety of motor and confidence issues. The staff know what they’re doing and know how to work with kids. Fitness for Health absolutely makes a difference in these kids’ lives!”
—Dr. Richard Lodish, Associate Head of School and Lower School Principal, Sidwell Friends School, Washington, DC
“At Fitness for Health…they combine kids’ love for video games and a need for fitness into one, and it’s working. [It’s] a place where a kid with a little help can build a stronger body and mind.”

“We just wanted to express our gratitude for helping our son learn to ride a bike. He was one of the last on the block to learn this skill, but with his fears and balance/coordination problems, teaching him to ride a bike was a challenge that we were not equipped to handle. We are so grateful to you for teaching him to ride within a few short lessons. You gave him the confidence and the tools he needed.”

“The effort that has been put into our son’s physical and emotional well-being has been amazing. Everyone at Fitness for Health has worked incredibly hard to ensure he feels good about himself and his participation in all kinds of sports — and the results have been priceless. He has experienced tremendous growth in self-esteem. The difference in his self-confidence between day one and twelve months later is truly unbelievable.”

“The children and adolescents I refer for an individualized training program feel safe, comfortable, and happy. They work, make progress, and with this growth, feel better about themselves.”
—Larry B. Silver, M.D.
“We have been so pleased with the program, and the staff, at Fitness for Health. Marc and his team came up with a program, specifically tailored to fit our daughter’s needs; and we’ve seen some significant improvement in the areas of motor planning, coordination, and stamina, to name a few. And it’s all done in an environment that’s fun for the kids and that our daughter always enjoys.”

“Our son has been a passionate and skilled ice hockey player since a very young age. When he decided to take his abilities ‘to the next level,’ we were advised that he should build up his strength and physical abilities. As a middle schooler, our son began regular workouts at Fitness for Health, developing the physical conditioning, level of intensity, and physique required for high-level athletics. Marc’s unique approach to conditioning and his wonderful ability to connect with his clients makes working out ‘fun.’ Thanks to Marc, our son has achieved his athletic potential: In high school he played the highest level hockey in the region; playing with the Washington Little Caps and then the Washington Junior Nationals. This past year, as a college freshman, he won the defensive MVP award for his team and was selected as the outstanding defenseman in his entire collegiate league. During breaks he continues to work with Marc to further enhance his skills.”

“After my shoulder replacement surgery, I needed months of physical therapy: not to rehab my shoulder from the surgery, but to try to regain range of motion that had been lost over many years of pain and arthritis in the shoulder joint; and, in fact, to re-learn how to use the shoulder in some ways. This operation wasn’t too common at the time, and the necessary regimen wasn’t widely understood. Alison worked with me from the week after surgery, two to three times a week, cheerfully, tirelessly, and competently, and got back almost the full range of motion, which is critical. My outcome is considered good for this kind of thing; the physical therapy is critical to achieving that outcome; and an excellent therapist like Alison gets it done. Overall, it was as close to being a pleasure as rehabilitative physical therapy can get.”

“Alison is an amazing physical therapist. And she’s so smart. I recently herniated a disc in my back and an MRI also showed a degenerative condition involving bone spurs, stenosis, and a number of bulging discs. Alison helped me more than I thought possible. First, she explained the physiology to me and I’ve learned why it is so important to have strong core muscles and why I am doing each exercise. She helps me to understand when I need ice and when I need heat, how to sleep, walk, bend, etc. When I describe a symptom or problem she finds me a new activity or exercise to help me out.”
